If you’re looking for a dairy-free caramel sauce for cinnamon rolls that’s also coconut-free, this simple stovetop recipe delivers rich flavor without traditional butter or cream. Made with date sugar, honey, maple syrup, and avocado oil, it’s a naturally sweetened option perfect for allergy-friendly baking.

Dairy-free cinnamon rolls baked in homemade caramel sauce, golden brown and topped with chopped nuts in a glass baking dish.

1/3 c. date sugar

1/4 c. avocado oil

1/2 c. water

1/2 c. honey

1/2 c. maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla

  1. Combine all but the vanilla into sauce pan. Bring to a boil and let boil for 2-3 minutes, stirring mixture to keep from burning. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Pour into greased 9x13 pan.

  2. Add your cinnamon rolls on top of caramel and bake the rolls as you normally would!

For dairy free cinnamon rolls, I used avocado oil instead of butter. I also used date sugar with the cinnamon inside the rolls instead of brown sugar or coconut sugar because we are also a coconut free home!
