Some say the most important meal of the day is breakfast. Getting your kids out the door might seem like more of a priority though!

Here are FOUR ideas for superfood breakfasts for your little superheroes:

  1. Breakfast burritos (can be prepped and froze for quick grabs)

  2. Oatmeal with flax, berries, and chia seeds (can also find overnight oats that are ready to go the next morning!)

  3. Whole fat yogurt, berries and granola (I like to get plain yogurt and mix my fruits and greens into it for the flavor and extra superfoods)

  4. Smoothie (this is the ultimate breakfast item to sneak superfoods into!)

What are superfoods?

It’s a term given to certain foods because they’re packed with more nutrient density than other foods. Some that you can keep on hand and add into the meals above are:

  • Cacao powder (cocoa but more nutrient dense)

  • Chia and Flax seeds

  • Cinnamon

  • Avocado

  • Goji, Acai, Raspberries and Blueberries

  • Sweet potatoes

  • Raw milk

  • Coconut anything

  • Green Tea

  • Ginger (ginger beer makes for a great liquid for smoothies)

  • Turmeric

  • Bone Broth

All of these (well maybe not the bone broth) could be mixed into yogurt, blended into your smoothie, or tossed in with scrambled eggs wrapped into a burrito! And the bonus of it all, is it doesn’t take but just a few more seconds to take an ordinary breakfast and transform it into a superhero breakfast to get your kiddo ready for a big day of learning!

Assorted superfoods on a table including blueberries, broccoli, carrots, avocado, citrus, chia seeds, and leafy greens arranged for a healthy breakfast concept.
